I never noticed this 'Simpsons' version of Casablanca with Claude Rains in character as Renault.

Check it out at www.youtube.com for a gaff or two - type in 'Casablanca Alternate Ending - Simpsons'.

Has anyone else ever noticed the Claude reference in "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective"? I never noticed it until today.

EINHORN: So where is Finkle, now?

ACE: He broke out of a mental hospital.
Did a Claude Rains.

Unfortunately, as seems to happen often, Claude's name was spelled "Raines" in the script :\

Back on Claude's birthday I had asked my aunt to tape some of the movies on TCM for me. She forgot, but to make it up to me she bought me "The Clairvoyant" for my birthday recently. Boy, was I excited when I saw that! I've watched it a bunch of times, and I highly recommend it to any Claude fans who haven't seen it.

I didn't know Sons of Liberty was in technicolor! *does happy dance*

Claude would have been great in 'The Patriot' methinks.  Love that dashing ponytail.

Hey gang!
Ok, two ways to acquire rarer Claude stuff....

1. apple's i-tunes music store is now selling for 1.99 episodes of "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" for the video ipod. Among the episodes? "And So Died Riabouchinska". Even if you don't have the video ipod, you can still download it to you itunes music library and watch it on your PC. DSL line or better to download with ease.

2. Warner Bros. Errol Flynn collection..You can buy as a boxset or individual. The Flynn flick "Dodge City" has among its "Night at the Movies" bonus feature selection the Claude Rains technicolor short subject, "Sons of Liberty".

Ladies, Claude with a ponytail........... ; )

Two words: hubba hubba

Does anyone remember that game show "Degrees of Separation", where you had to link people together by a certain number of degrees? Well, my mom is always playing that, saying "I've met this actress, and she's worked with this actor, so I'm connected to that actor!" Well, I found out today that my great grandfather on my mother's side used to hang out with Eddie Fisher, who was in "All About Eve" with Bette Davis, and Bette Davis was in "Now, Voyager" with Claude Rains. So that's 4 degrees!

Anyone else wanna give the game a try?
